The main feature of Silentnight’s Eco series is eco-friendliness, hence the name. All of the products in the Eco line-up are eco-friendly and recyclable to a certain extent, but more importantly, they’re partially made from eco-friendly fibres that were derived and manufactured through recycled plastic.
Most of the time, we can find these fibres in the cover of a mattress, but when it comes to Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid, we have a few comfort layers aside from a recyclable cover.
As you know, memory foam can be harmful if not properly sourced, made or treated. Because of it, most manufacturers send their mattresses to get third-party tested and certified to prove that they’re free of potentially hazardous and harmful chemicals.
In the case of Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid, there is no foam that we have to worry about. However, there is a lot of recycled plastic. But, there’s nothing to worry about. Every Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid mattress has been tested and proven to be free of any potentially toxic or harmful chemicals so that you can safely enjoy sleeping on it every night.
The main base of Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid is a pocket spring system. This hybrid is supported with 1000 full-sized, individually nested pocket springs that do more than a good job of properly supporting us during the night.
Silentnight’s Mirapocket pocket spring support system is one of the best ones on the market in this price range. The springs are 18 cm tall, they’re springy, durable and supportive, and considering they can all move individually – they do more than a good job of isolating motion. The mattress will deliver individually tailored support thanks to this Mirapocket system.
In a place where you would commonly find memory foam, or perhaps even wool, this hybrid eco mattress brings you two eco layers made from 3D breathable fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.
These two layers are here to keep things comfortable and wick away the excess moisture, and help with air circulation and temperature regulation. While we’re a bit on the fence when it comes to the “comfort” layer, we must admit that the insulating pad does a pretty great job of keeping things cool and dry all through the night. Therefore, you can expect nothing but a peaceful night's sleep.
Another thing that is made from recycled fabric is the cover of the mattress. Instead of using cotton or polyester, Silentnight has once again turned to their trusted, eco-sourced fibres to manufacture a mattress cover.
And, once again, the mattress cover we’re getting is non-removable. That means you will probably need to get a mattress protector since you won’t be machine-washing this one. Even if you don’t eat or drink in bed, you could still stain the mattress over time in various other ways.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, the Mirapocket pocket springs are 18 cm high, which is pretty tall even for a full-sized pocket spring. This has both advantages and disadvantages to it, but more on that later.
The rest of the mattress is only 6 cm deep and is comprised of a cover, insulating pad and a soft “eco” comfort layer.
This makes Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid 24 cm deep, which is what many would consider ideal. It's perfect if you plan on using fitted sheets; it's perfectly tall to be placed on most bed frames and is neither too thick nor thin, so you won't have problems getting out of the bed if you have problematic knees or are a senior citizen.
One area in which Silentnight seems to lack behind the competition is their trial period.
As you probably know, every Silentnight mattress gets a 60-night trial period. Now, we won’t lie to you and say that two months isn’t enough to see whether the mattress is fitting or not, but when you have direct competitors offering 100 and 200-night trials, you just can’t help but feel like you’re missing out.

As we’ve already mentioned, this is not your regular hybrid. Instead of memory foam, this one is made from pocket springs and two layers of eco and sustainable fibres made from recycled plastic bottles. As such, this mattress is quite firm, durable and breathable. The eco-fibres don’t retain heat or moisture, so you can expect to sleep cool and achieve comfortable night's sleep during the hottest summer nights.
Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid is a firm, single sided mattress, with not a lot of give, despite being supported with 180 mm tall full-sized pocket springs. It doesn’t contour around your body’s curves like other hybrids would, primarily because it doesn’t have any foam in it. As such, Silentnight Studio Eco Hybrid is not particularly comfortable for side sleepers. On the other hand, back and stomach sleepers will get a good night's sleep out of this one nine times out of ten.
